Operation Moses
In 1984, businessman Georges Gutelman saved the lives of thousands of Ethiopian refugees by putting his airline at the service of a perilous operation.
At the time, images of famine in Africa were shocking the world. In the refugee camps in Sudan, Ethiopian Jews were exhausted, starving, and threatened because of their religious practices. At the request of the Mossad, Gutelman offered his Belgian charter company to help exfiltrate them through a secret airlift to Israel. As a hidden child and an orphan whose mother was murdered in Auschwitz, the entrepreneur invested himself wholeheartedly in this mission, despite the threat it posed to TEA's commercial relations with Arab countries.
Forty years later, this documentary reveals the secrets of the operation through the exclusive testimonies of the teams who participated in it.
